11th place Finish for Justin Allison’s First ARCA Start

(Kansas City, KS – Oct. 7, 2013) Justin Allison came home with a solid 11th place finish in his first-ever ARCA Racing Series event, the rain-shortened Kansas Lottery 98.9 which was run on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Kansas Speedway.Originally scheduled for 99 laps, ARCA and track officials shortened the race by 34 laps for safety reasons due to the rain and threatening weather in the area.

Allison qualified 11th in the No. 88 HAVACOSALES.COM Ford Fusion powered by RoushYates Engines, and once the green flag flew, he was able to maneuver through the field and make his way as high as 6th at one point.

Several cautions slowed the race allowing Crew Chief Howard Bixman plenty of chances to boost Allison’s confidence as much as possible. At one point, Bixman told him over the radio, “You’re doing a great job out there. Many drivers are out there to gain Championship points so they’re driving aggressively. Just stay smart and stick to our game plan, and you’ll be in great shape.”Bixman made the call to bring in the No. 88 HAVACOSALES.COM Ford Fusion during a caution on lap 35 for four Hoosier tires and Sunoco fuel, but made no adjustments. While Allison was making his way down pit road, Bixman then decided to bring him back down pit road again for fuel only before the green flag flew, and this gave the No. 88 enough gas to make it to end.

With a possible tornado in the area, ARCA officials felt it was best to clear the grandstands, so they announced on lap 55 that the race would end in 10 laps. At that time, Allison was in 16th and had to make up as much as ground as possible in the short time available, and he was able to climb to 11th.“We had a top 5 car here for sure,” Allison said. “I hate to see the race end so early when we were the first car with fresh tires and enough fuel to make it to the checkered flag. This was a great start to my ARCA racing career, and I look forward to working with Team BCR and Howard in the future. I’d like to thank the HaVACo group for coming out to watch the race, and I would like to thank the rest of my marketing partners for being a part of my debut; Rush Racing Products, Rick and Bubba Sausage produced by Polk’s Meat and Husky Liners. I greatly appreciate it.”

Bixman was equally thrilled with the results.

“Justin has some amazing driving talents, and I can already tell the family legacy will continue to live on,” Bixman said. “Justin has given me a lot to look forward to, and I can’t wait to work with him even more in the future. If the race wasn’t shortened, I have no doubts Justin would have came home with a top 5 finish and possibly have been a contender for a win. He has a very bright future ahead of him.”

Justin Allison is grandson of NASCAR legend Donnie Allison and great nephew of Bobby Allison. Donnie attended the race to support his grandson and could not be more proud of Justin’s first performance on a major racing circuit.

“I think Justin did a tremendous job being that it was his first race ever in this type of car on this big of a racetrack,” Donnie Allison said. “I think he showed everybody his abilities as a race car driver.”

Team BCR Racing and Development Team, located in Mooresville, N.C, has positioned itself to become a first-rate driver development team that seeks out talented drivers and provides them with a quality equipment with the goal of grooming them for successful entry into NASCAR various racing series.
